Why is Clownfest in Seaside Heights?
Seaside Heights is the traditional home of Clownfest. It is the place with a boardwalk on the Atlantic Ocean that has stolen the hearts of the clown community. The lectures and the actives for Clownfest take place at several locations around this small town. Our dealers are all at the Aztec Ocean Resort Motel and our activities take place at a Church Hall, the Court House and on the Seaside Heights Boardwalk & Beach. You will drive or walk to the events.  Most folks like to meet one another and talk on the way to events and classes.

I am new at clowning and magic can I still come?
This is exactly what our programs are all about. Classes are designed for both novice and advanced clowns. You can learn so much and meet so many people with the same interests. You'll see all the national suppliers of make-up, costumes, magic, face painting supplies, clown props, shoes, noses and so, so much more. It's an edu-vention designed for everybody!

Will there be a Clownfest Clown Parade?
Yes, on the Seaside Heights Boardwalk on Sunday. The "Clownfest Paradeability Competition" will take place at the Aztec Resort Motel on that day in the morning as well. The traditional "Clownfest Clown Parade" on the boardwalk of Seaside Heights is at 2:00 PM. This parade will have five marching bands and it will draw close to fifteen thousand spectators or more. Each clown should have a fun parade routine planned. Do something, simply walking and waving in the parade is not clowning. Come and strut your stuff!

I want to visit the dealers only, Can I still do this?
Yes, shop til ya drop with twenty dealers of clown and magic supplies at the Aztec Ocean Resort Motel. For many folks this is the only yearly opportunity to see this many suppliers in one place. There will be a sampling of everything from clown costuming, shoes, noses, make-up, wigs, clown props, magic props, balloons and so much, much more. Save up your spending money or bring your friendly credit card to use at the ATM if you need supplies.

Can I bring a family or friend to the "Luau Party" and show on Saturday night?
Yes, you can. We ask that you pre-register them at $25.00 per person as soon as possible. This fee is included in the FULL registration. We need to know the head count to prepare for everyone. We will have a real head bangin time.

Do I need a clown costume, make-up or any props?
If you are going to participate in any of the clown activities that require to be in a performance mode the answer is... YES! Activities like the stage performance, coaching or the competitions and the parade are clown activities. If you don't have anything to wear you can see all of our twenty-two national clown suppliers. They have everything from the nose, make-up, costuming right down to the shoes. The entire weekend is designed for clowning with the public. Plan ahead.

Should we dress up for the "Luau Party"?
The party will be at the church hall. Dress up? Well, we are not as formal as all that. A colorful shirt would be the fun thing to do but it is not really required. Dress to have fun that's what we are all about. Shoes and shirts are required in the club! No Clowns Please.

What is the "Clownfest Certification" program?
Simply attend six of the classes a public event as well as the parade and get your "certification card" stamped. You will receive your card at registration and the certificate on stage after the parade on Sunday. Trophies for Make-Up & Costume and Paradeabilty will be presented then and there as well. Any other awards or trophies will be presented on Saturday at the Rock n' Roll Party. Your certificate tells the world that you have taken the time to get training in the clown arts. You go clown!

Will there be a group photo?
Yes, it will be taken on Saturday at the Aztec pool area in the morning. You will receive one for FREE after participating in the parade on stage on Sunday. Or if you are not participating in the parade you may purchase one ($10.00) in advance and it will be mailed to you after the convention.

Will there be room for me and my friends at Clownfest?
Registration numbers are always great. You need to be registered ahead of time so that we can plan for you. This is our anniversary year and the registration will be up. How many clowns can you fit into a convention?

What is the "Clownfest Passport" event on Saturday?
You will have a special card called the Clownfest Passport. On Saturday you can get into your "clown character" and visit designated locations or arcades on the boardwalk. The card is stamped and finally turned in at the tenth location. On Sunday, following the Clownfest Parade, one card will be drawn on stage and one clown will win a cash prize. You are encouraged to have fun all along the way with the general public as you travel from station to station. Even if you don't take home the cash you are guaranteed to take home hundreds of memories in the process. You must have a full registration and be present in make-up and costume after participating and in the parade to win.

Is there a cut-off date to register for the events by mail?
Yes, you can mail it right up to August 26th, 2008. Confirmations may not reach you in the mail in time after that date. A "full registration" is needed to enter into any competition or to participate in any special event. NOTE: After that mail in cut-off date you will have to register at the door.
 

How can I win some of the twenty-five and more prizes?
Yes, simply participate in any of the many public events on Saturday. Three prizes will be randomly picked at each location at each event. You must be fully registered and a participant in clown attire to win.
 

Can we bring our friends, families and children?
Anyone that is participating in classes or events must have a full registration. Children can be a distraction in our classes. However, Seaside Heights is a full multimillion dollar resort town designed for family fun. There are many food stands, ice cream stands, rides, games and more for the family to enjoy. Why not make it a fun family vacation?
